The Los Angeles Rams quarterback Aaron Rodgers is no stranger to Chinese restaurants.
He has owned his own restaurant in Los Angeles and he has a restaurant in Shanghai, the country’s second-largest city.
But the $1,200,000 he is asking for his father’s restaurant is the largest he has ever won in an auction.
It is the biggest win for a family business in Los Angles history.
Rodgers, the son of Hall of Famer and current Seahawks quarterback Brett Favre, is the fifth-highest paid player in the NFL this year and he made his $1.6 million bid in the 10th-biggest auction of the year.
Rodriggers won his bid by virtue of winning the most games by a quarterback in NFL history, according to data compiled by Pro Football Reference.
The previous highest total is Joe Montana’s $1 billion in 2000, according the site.
The Rams and Rodgers will meet again in Sunday’s game at CenturyLink Field.
The game will air on ESPN2.
